We improved the online ordering experience for a local heating oil supplier.
The checkout process for home heating oil delivery is hard. With all the options and information the users need to select it's easy for the checkout experience to be a nightmare. We wanted to give Oilex the smoothest buying experience in the industry.
We put ourselves in their customers' shoes and broke the checkout up into stages.
We designed things so that they would have all of their major questions answered in seconds. After that we could ask them to fill in more information without risking them quitting halfway through.
The site was released at the beginning of their busy season and has been running smoothly ever since. As soon as we can compare the sales with the new UX we'll post the results here.
